Winner: 2016 National Landscape Design Awards

Best Residential Landscape Design over 150sqm category

This stunning Kenmore Hills garden seamlessly integrates the renovated house with its leafy setting. Working in collaboration with the architects, who extensively remodelled the house in 2015 using a palette of natural materials such as stone, glass and timber, Define have unified the site and brought the established layered vegetation from outside in. Key tasks included selectively removing tired and overgrown plants, salvaging others and re-shaping the terracing down to the creek. Opening up the new backyard living spaces on both levels has created sublime glimpses of the creek line and broad vistas of the riparian habitat, blended in with its new palette of sculptural, colourful sub-tropical plantings and the soothing sounds of the cascading water feature. The deep green tones of the massed entry plantings against the bold stone walls have re-invigorated its street appeal, whilst the numerous planting themes, the fruit tree grove and the herb & veggie patches are eclectically woven under the holistic feel of ‘lush, leafy and layered’.

Tennyson Reach Apartments - by Mirvac

King Arthur Terrace (next to Queensland Tennis centre)

Tennyson Reach is a luxury apartment complex located on the southern side of the Brisbane River next to Ken Fletcher Park and the Queensland Tennis Centre. The apartments offer northerly views over the river and Golf Course through to the city, attracting discerning residents who appreciate the beautiful natural surrounds & proximity to the superb sporting
facilities and amenities nearby.

Define were commissioned back in 2011 by the Body Corporate in conjunction with Mirvac after the Brisbane Floods decimated the sites gardens. Preparation of a carefully developed Landscape Masterplan utilising a new palette of lush, flowering sub-tropical species was developed to create a more relaxed domestic character. Services provided included concept design, contract documentation and site supervision of landscape construction and on-going maintenance works.

The project was constructed in stages over a 4 year period and were completed in 2015.

Ephraim Island is an unique residential island community to the north of the Gold Coast. Designed by Mirvac as an
exclusive, prestigious coastal address boasting luxury waterfront apartments, villas and absolute beachfront homes, this
development promotes and delivers a sophisticated vision of island living.

Resident requests for improved amenity have necessitated new landscape designs & staged upgrades across all the
islands’ unique precincts. Detailed design services and the supervision of construction works were also provided in conjunction
with the Island’s body corporate management, residents & landscape maintenance staff. Project works started in March 2011
in the Promontory precinct with softworks renewals being progressively completed in the Marina and Broadwater precincts.
